Spent the evening in my garden 🌿. • I had plants to put in from this weekend's lovely plant swap 🌸• There were some herbs that needed to be snipped. 🌱• And of course there is always, always weeding to be done. 💪• Feeling very grateful for every extra hour of sunlight this time of year. 🌞
Last thing for now to share--before moving onward to yoga things, and all the other things even though I count life experiences as yoga things too, but in this grieving of my elders in that now all of my grandparents have left this lifetime ...I remain generous in my embracing of the absence (death) of my grandfather (and grandmother a year ago)...
These Iris flowers. My Gram especially loved these. I remember being at their house a few years ago at this time of year when I was pregnant with Gus, and we all admired these very blooms. In fact I think I shared a photo of them on this very medium.
After the funeral this weekend, my mom and I noticed how they hadn't bloomed yet but the neighbors' Iris had...and then on our very last day at the house, these 2 bloomed!
One for Gram. One for Pap.
I'm sure the rest have bloomed now but in that moment it felt like a little message of #flowerpower from them. 💫
An "I see you and you can see us in the flowers, the feelings, the memories." Iris always seem to provide a certain mystery. Their ruffles and intricacies as reminders to try to stay elegant at all times. If not just in appearance but in manner. They have deep and boundless love underneath all of the layers, too.
That's the magic I believe in. Simply noticing when nature and people and things help you remember. It is as simple as that. .
