What do you stand behind?
Theresa Sophia: I stand behind my Haitian ancestors. I can feel them in me pushing me forward towards my purpose. For a long time I ignored their spirits, but once I let go of my ego I knew it was their guidance that I needed all along. I come from a long line of fighters, and doers. So it's in my blood to be like them.
There are endless mediums to express as an outlet..how did you come about to use spoken word/rap as your platform?
TS: When I was little we would drive around and my mom would ask me to describe things. I would say things like "The tree is blowing in the wind and green is all around". She also wrote everything down. So I guess it was really influenced by her. Once I learned to read I obsessed over books like "A Pizza the Size of the Sun" and "Falling Up" and my love for writing poetry/music kept growing. It was therapy for me. It felt good.

It was a busy weekend over here, and I'm glad a new week has begun! Although I'm ready for the weekend to start again 😁 ⠀
Lots of big new changes coming in the next few weeks for me, both personally & in my business. I'm trying to give myself room to breathe and hopefully avoid getting overwhelmed! The things that help me keep from getting too stressed or anxious are sleep, plenty of water, and talking to people I trust. But it's all SUPER exciting stuff and I can't wait for all these exciting moments! ⠀
